Territory Technology Solutions (TTS) commenced trading in 1999 as a single person operation with a technical focal point. Its first major foray into the SMB market began in a small shed located in the Winnellie Business District. From this humble beginning and with only two staff, it consistently grew in size and numbers as the market embraced its fresh approach to IT support. In 2001 the steady growth of the business forced it to move into larger premises on Coonawarra Road in Winnellie. Staff totalled 18. These early years for TTS did not go without reward. In 2002, largely because of hard work and a strict attention to detail, processes and procedures, success followed. TTS was nominated as a finalist for the Telstra Small Business of the Year Awards.
In 2005, due to the ongoing rapid increase and expansion of the services, a new purpose built premises was erected at 58 Raphael Road, Winnellie. In 2005, coinciding with this shift, TTS experienced exponential sales growth, and a sharp increase in the demand for its technical expertise. This necessitated a major restructure of the business focus. Market forces were demanding that their IT provider be able to offer a total solution encompassing all facets of a business (Networking, Printing, Internet, Phones, IP CCTV). TTS embraced this new market direction and established itself as the market place leader and innovator in total end to end solutions specifically designed for SMB, Corporate and larger business entities. As part of this market shift, in 2005, TTS was appointed as the AVAYA Telephony Partner and OKI Platinum Partner for the Northern Territory. 2006 saw a further highlight in our steady growth. In conjunction with the multinational company Fujitsu, TTS was successful in winning the NT Government Desktop outsourcing tender. Our role included the integration, delivery and service of all notebooks and desktops for the whole of the NT Government. These roles led to a further expansion in 2007, which saw TTS, take over the adjoining premises at 60 Raphael Road. This expansion housed the bulk storage, Prometric Testing Facility and new Integration and Staging Centre.
The state of the art Integration Centre that was required for this contract had a capacity to SOE over 80 machines per hour. With the expansion to 60 Raphael Road, the buildings provided over 1600m2 under one roof, in secure warehousing and office space. However, even with this growth it was still not enough space for storage and training facilities. TTS purchased a large shed in Winnellie and moved buildings to the newly renovated space at 8 Albatross Street in February 2016. The renovation allowed a significantly more refined workflow for the logistics team.
In early 2009, TTS recognised the need for a presence in Alice Springs and so opened the doors of their new office in August of that year. The new presence of full time sales/technical staff in the Alice Springs office and ongoing remote support of the team in Darwin, meant that TTS was now able to deliver new higher levels of service to our Alice Springs customer base. This also meant that these Alice Springs customers were able to access the complete range of TTS’s technology skills for the first time. At TTS we have always identified ourselves as a Territory based company, not just one that focuses on the needs of our Darwin customer base. This expansion added further to this reputation.
As a long-term supporters, of IBM & Lenovo in the territory we have been able to offer solid proven solutions backed by our own qualified technical team. This long-term commitment with suppliers has introduced such other vendor alliances as Microsoft, VMWare, Toshiba, Samsung, WatchGuard, Mobotix, Avaya, Axis and Netgear During 2007 & 2008, TTS further developed our vendor relations collaborating with Hewlett Packard allowing TTS to provide traditional ICT Solutions, CCTV and Telephony services.
These business partnerships incorporate both sales & services of their product range. TTS has won the Watchguard Expert Partner of the Year 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 beating out 35 other companies from around Australia. This result was a fitting reward for our ongoing work in the Northern Territory.
Over the years, TTS has provided a multitude of diverse and strategic IT related Services to the Northern Territory Government, ranging from break/fix of hardware and technical repairs, to the sales of hardware and software. TTS has a proven record of accomplishment, supplying high-end server and supporting infrastructure to a number of Government Departments. In addition, TTS are active with a number of Commercial & Enterprise clients, providing not only hardware and services, but contributing to their future expansions by providing technology roadmaps and product & solution evaluations and recommendations.
With ever-increasing complexity of technology solutions, TTS have recognised that business owners and managers are finding it more and more difficult to manage their environments. With this in mind, TTS have been market leaders in the development of management structures to assist businesses. Currently TTS have several maintenance programs on offer to cater for business requirements. Each program can be specifically tailored to suit an individual business. Coverage can address all aspects of the business including, servers, storage, desktops, laptops, printers, modem/ routers and Avaya telephone systems. All customers with maintenance programs are monitored via our state of the art Network Operations Centre. Our engineers employ the latest in site management tools from companies such as Kaseya and Solarwinds. With this aspect of the business the emphasis is always on preventative maintenance, our engineers strive to maintain environments that are up to date and reflect the best of industry practices. To back this comprehensive service structure, TTS have invested heavily in our management and helpdesk systems to assist clients in logging, checking and updating job details in real time. Available during business hours, TTS have staff dedicated to assist both contracted and non contracted customers with their service requirements. Service requests may be logged via the phone, fax, email or their online service. Customers using the online service can follow the progress of the service request and are advised via email once they are completed.
The geographical nature of the Northern Territory means that large national service providers such as Dell and Fujitsu (30 in total) do not have a presence here, yet the national clients they support do. As a result, the team at TTS have earned the reputation of being the “go to” group when these companies need local support. TTS now services a range of peripheral technology products such as Scales, Cash Counting, EFTPOS and POS devices, for businesses such as the large banks, airlines and national supermarket chains on behalf of these national service providers. Our technical team is on call 24 hours a day servicing and maintaining these critical business devices.
Our technical staff are highly skilled and trained in a diverse range of products including leading brands such as Dell, IBM (Partner), Microsoft (Partner), VMware (Partner), Lenovo (Partner), HP (Partner), Avaya (Partner), Mitel (Partner), Cisco (Partner), Riverbed (Partner), Samsung (Partner), Toshiba (Pro Care Plus) and a variety of other vendors. There are 22 technically based staff in the engineering department with a wide range of skills and certifications. The certifications our staff have achieved include Toshiba Pro Care Plus, Microsoft MCSE, Citrix, Cisco, Axis, Milestone, Mobotix, VMware, IBM Business Partners, AVAYA, Mitel, Samsung Print & Telephony. TTS’s technical skill set is further enhanced by our experienced Sales team. The sales team also boasts qualifications with WatchGuard, Riverbed, Lenovo, VMware, Avaya, Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco, HP, Mitel, Samsung and variety of other vendors. This company unity and the strong relationship with our vendors ensures that we can successfully service all your needs and provide a total end to end solution. The offering is expansive with desktops and laptops, servers, storage, printers, photocopiers, IP Telephony, IP CCTV, firewalls, network hardware, wireless solutions, monitors, wired and wireless internet, WAN optimisation, site monitoring, IT consulting, managed hosting, application provision and IT site management all on offer .
At present TTS employs approximately 35 staff at our Albatross Street head office, a very different from the original site at Charlton Court. Staff have always been important to TTS and in an effort to further prove our commitment to supporting and growing the IT industry in the NT, TTS actively supports an apprenticeship scheme and currently employs 4 trainees. These staff occupy a variety of roles in the business including accounts, help desk, and technical workshop. They are trained in all aspects of these roles by in house mentors and progress through the business accordingly. Such is it’s commitment to this area TTS received recognition by winning the Group Training Host Employer of the year 2008 with one of our female staff taking out runner up Trainee of the Year.
Despite the enormous growth of TTS it has never forgotten its humble beginnings. TTS actively supports a number of local charities. It has been a long-term supporter of Variety, Girl Guides, Scouts NT, The Lords Taverners and the RSPCA. It also boasts an internal “Not for Profit Support Policy” which provides services for these charity type organisations at reduced rates.
Over the years, TTS has increased its profile and footprint and is now recognised as the largest privately owned ICT Company in the Northern Territory, and a major stakeholder in the small to medium businesses enterprise space. TTS has established itself as a quality provider of tailored solutions for Business networks with a specific emphasis on remote sites. TTS’s mantra has always been to provide quality customer service, excellent pre-sales and post-sales support and establishing valued ongoing business relationships.
